Mediaportal and IPTV (1 Viewer)

Is there way to setup Mediaportal to use an IP source instead of using a Capture TV Cards? TV here is used over the IP network. Currently using VLC (and IP STB) to watch Live TV by specifying the Multicast address of each TV Channel. I would like to to use Mediaportal to record, pause, etc.

okay: if i am not totally wrong the MP server do not support ordinary iptv, just it's own tv over ip(rtsp) from an existing HW tv card.
