Mediaportal Black Screen after few seconds (1 Viewer)

Hi, I'm newbe about Mediaportal. I've used it as main interface for my HTPC but, when it's running, the interface become black in both windowed and full screen mode until i move the mouse or type a key. This happen on relatively recent machines (I've a P4 HT 3.0 GHz with 1GB RAM and a GeForce6600 Silent), but with an older one such as a P4 2.0 GHz with 512 MB Ram and an ATI Radeon 7000VE Mp works fine. I've tried some version such as 1.3, 2.0 RC1 and, finally, 2.0 RC2.
The first two rally don't work, while the 2.0 RC2 give me a windows error when i open the folder of pictures.
Can I solve my problem?

There is an option in General Configuration about turning a screen saver on in idle. Disable that. You will also have to disable the windows power management for the monitor (or at least I did).
