When I try to launch the MediaPortal Setup from the desktop I get: "MediaPortal Configuration has encountered an error and needs to close..."
I have tried to reinstall several times, different versions and so forth - but to no avail.
If I copy mediaportal.xml from another computer and hand edit it MediaPortal runs fine.

Help much appreciated!

All the best,
Kevin

    Eh, I'm using a standard installation and I have .net1, .net2 and .net3.
I'm not sure what you mean by "light installation" but shouldn't it work anyhow?

    All the best,
    Kevin

    Hi,
If you have used a "light version" of windows xp, things that MP needs can be left out or deactivated so it would not work. Not seen this error before so not sure what it is.......

When you installed it, you did that to a empty MediaPortal folder, no old files left in it?

    Regards
    Roy

    Ah, I see......
Yep, installed in an empty folder.... :-(

    Anyway, thanks for trying.
