Hi all Happy new year to you all,
I have a problem this morning with MP not starting, it happened i believe
because my daughter turned my media center of at the wall power switch
last night instead of shutting the PC off as normal.
I get the "MediaPortal has stopped working" pop up from win7.
    Description:
    Stopped working

    Problem signature:
    Problem Event Name: CLR20r3
    Problem Signature 01: mediaportal.exe
    Problem Signature 02: 1.2.2.0
    Problem Signature 03: 4ef0b311
    Problem Signature 04: System.Xml
    Problem Signature 05: 2.0.0.0
    Problem Signature 06: 4ca2ba8e
    Problem Signature 07: 6c1
    Problem Signature 08: 27
    Problem Signature 09: System.Xml.XmlException
    OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.1
    Locale ID: 3081

Now I have never had this one before, When I try too run in debug mode that crashes also.
So if someone can point me in the right direction to cure this it would be great.TV config works ok
but mediaportal and mediaportal config dont.
    Thank you Hound :)

    Hi hounddog

I'd say your MediaPortal.xml file got corrupted or wiped. Try this:
    1. Open up Windows Explorer.
    2. Paste C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal into the address bar.
    3. Copy MediaPortal.xml.bak over MediaPortal.xml.
    4. Try to start MP/config.

    Thanks for your reply mm1352000,
I tried what you said but it still didnt work, so I opened up mediaportal.xml and the .bak in and editor and found they both where
full of "null" so I copied mediaportal.xml from a previous backup and it worked again but with an different skin. That is not a problem tho, I can Change that back in MP config.

    Thanks again Hound :D
