Hi there,

I'm running 1.0.2 & all of a sudden I can't access the configuration wizard. It starts to open & then I get the attached exception error.

I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling Microsoft Netframework 2.0 SP1 but I still get the same error.

I cannot make any changes now to my MediaPortal :(

I can run MediaPortal with no problems; it's just the configuration program that I can't launch. When I launch the program there is an option to "continue" but when I do that and make a change in the configuration I again get the error after pressing "ok" thereby cancelling my changes.

Thankyou
hkp

Hi Simone

I am not running Chinese Windows & it has been working perfectly until a few days ago. I am beginning to suspect a Shoutcast plugin which failed to download as the cause of my issues but am not sure how to track this down.

Mediaportal configuration crashes

Hi there,

I'm chasing down a crash issue when I launch MPC.

I am suspecting it is one of my plugins.

Is there a way disable the plugins before I launch MPC to see if it stops the crashing?

MediaPortal works perfectly but because I can't do anything in MPC I am stuck for adding new features:confused:

I am using MP 1.0.2

Thankyou
hkp

    Hi hkp

I have merged your threads. No crossposting please.

Is there a way disable the plugins before I launch MPC to see if it stops the crashing?
you can REMOVE the plugin dll file from the mediaportal\plugins\windows or mediaportal\plugins\process folders before starting up MPConfiguration.

    Thankyou for the quick reply.

I am not using Chinese Windows.

Thankyou & sorry about the cross posting

I have deleted the plugin folder temporarily but the exception error issue still exists so not sure what else to try next.

Why would MediaPortal work perfectly but not not the configuration.

Is there a log file that I can look at to see at which point the crash occurs?
The problem with doing this though is because there is an exception crash I'm not sure if it able to write something to the log file.

I can press the continue button and make changes but when I press the ok button to exit the programme I get the exception error again.

    Thankyou

    Hi fellow Mediaportalonians,

Just an update this to my issue.

I was only able to get the configuration working again but doing a quick uninstall/reinstall. I say quick because I chose the first option on the uninstall menu in order to preserve all my folders & registry entries.

Anyway things are back to normal

    Thanks everyone
