Had a corrupt gentle.config. replaced it with the one from the tv server.

Now media portal crashes when doing nothing.
I suspect something else is corrupt, but no idea what.

Updated to 1.12 pre release.
repaired .net, because of a dll error in eventlog.
ran dxdiag, no problems detected

Preview of tv works, recording also.

From the error log :

uninstalled prismatik.

Still the same problem, I really lost. Nothing has changed since upgrading to 10.11 a few month ago.

The error in the eventlog :

Removed the dll, repaired .Net again. No solution.
Removed the amd drivers, have cause problems before, reinstalled, no solution

restored to a backup from a few month ago. Which is a pain, but every thing works again.
Now to update to the point of a few days ago :(. Taking a backup every step of the way.

So this will take a While.

Thread can be closed, unless someone wants to find out what the problem was, as this issue has not been resolved....
