Hi, info and discussion: http://nolanparty.com/mediaportal.sourceforge.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=7456 http://nolanparty.com/mediaportal.sourceforge.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=12295 There is more, just do a search. The MP team dropped the support because of several reasons. 1) None of the devs has a SW encoding card 2) So there is no dev who can give full support 3) Timeshift with SW encoding cards does not work well / makes much sense (because of the high CPU usage) 4) Many users of SW encoding cards did complain that this or that does not work (see point 1 and 2) 5) SW encoding cards were never officially supported 6) HW encoding and DVB cards are easier to implement (timeshift / recording) So yes. If you want to use TV on later versions of MP you should consider to buy a HW encoding card (like PVR 150 - 350). Support for software encoding cards may come back, if a new dev jumps in for it, but I would not count on that. It was not an easy decision, but hopefully it can be understood. HTH, Flip.
