MediaPortal.Deploy Tool Stops Working (1 Viewer)

I'm new to MP. I'd like to try it out but can't get it installed. I'm running W7 w/SP1. I downloaded 1.6.0 Final from the MP website. The installation starts then I get a pop up that MediaPortal.DeployTool has stopped working and it exits installation. Any advice?

Sorry nobody has responded - such threads don't usually go unanswered for this long.
In case you're interested in making a go of this I'd advise to start by making sure you've installed all the MediaPortal pre-requisites and Windows/Microsoft updates.

If that doesn't help we're going to need the technical information about the error. This can be found in the Windows application event log. Please export that log [as an XML file] and post/attach the file here.
