Did a clean in OS and mediaportal 0.2.2.0 install, and for a few weeks was working perfectly. After that, however, Mediaportal will freeze whenever I try to play any video from "My Videos".

I tried reinstalling Mediaportal with a recent snapshot but the eventually the same problem occurs.

Reproduction steps:
1) Navigate to My Video
2) Select any video movie available (mostly xvid/divx encoded)
3) Audio will play but video will not show
4) UI is frozen and can only exit mediaportal by ending process

I do use the movie database to query movie details an cover shots whenever a add a new movie to my collection. From the attached error log, seems like the is some issue there.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

I face the same issue on my system. I probably have found the source of the problem: Try using the Blue Two skin instead of the Blue Two Wide one.

    Does this help?

    Hi,
bluefugee, try to rename VideoDatabaseV5.db3 in "inst. path\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\database" & test again, the error.log shows that something it's wrong with it.

    Regards
    Roy

    Fixed for now! thanks.

Thanks for the help GoldenEye, Roy,

First I tried changing the skin to bluetwo regular (non-widescreen). Then ran the same steps. Unfortunately, this didn't help. The error log showed the same message.

Backing up VideoDatabaseV5.db3, by renaming it, did fix the issue. I guess there must have been some corruption in the database file.

Please let me know if there's anything more I can do to help find the source of the corruption. There were a few times when downloading movie info, when the download process would hang. I don't know if this was something caused by Mediaportal itself, IMDB, or even my ISP. Perhaps this was the cause of the corruption. If this happens again, I'll be sure to post some logs.

Oh, it also occurred to me that I posted this in 0.2.0.0 section instead of 0.2.2.0. If the mods would like to move this thread to that location, please do.

    Thanks again
