cruse;282154 I can confirm this behaviour. When i checked with Task Manager what prevents my System from going into standby said:
MS-SQL is set to use as much memory as it can for caching purposes and is normal, you can restrict the amount to any size via the SQLServer2005_SSMSEE.

I only see large memory usage when 'idle epg ' grab is set( timeshift epg doesn't) when no MAX mem usage is defined and this hasn't caused a S3/S4 event to fail.

    Thanks SciDoctor,
big DB and standby troubles were unrelated, just saw the DB size while i was looking. So if it's normal i won't change it. Usually applications taking that much memory look suspicious to me. Idle epg grab was turned off.

    Guys

how long does it take for your Gui to slow down? mines normally about 2 days.. and then a turn TV on turn TV off will restore the gui back to 50-60fps for another few days.. no standby of any kind is active on my pc..

are we all infrequent TV watchers?

do we have any common plugins running? im running shortcuter and the display (vfd) that comes with MP other than that all plugins are default..

i guess we just need more info so that we can try and pinpoint the cause, it doesnt look like similar G cards / hardware / motherboards etc neither is it operating system so must be driver (faulty in ATI and nvidia) or the code... it also takes ages to check!

    keep on adding info

by the way we all seem to be using AMD cpus.. anyone got intel?

    Thanks

    Steve
