Hello everyone,

I'm new to the forum.
Recently I've started to download movies for personal use from newsgroups.
It' legal to download in Switzerland.

The movies and TV shows are downloaded and automatically placed in their own folders, and many of them are not scanned properly.

What is the best approach to getting movies down from Usenet so that they 'just work' with MP.
Should I just manually move them about till it works?

I'd like to limit the amount of manual renaming, copying and pasting to make it work just right.

I've tried to different media servers and download a few plugins, and also tried manually fixing the problem.

I tried XMBC it is nice, I wasn't able to make the scanning work for me. I think the scanning and naming that MP does is better, especially the way it tries to automate the naming, by presenting a list of likely names.

If you use MP-TV Series for your tv series you would need to name each file like this...

Breaking Bad s03e02

etc.. It builds it's database from thetvdb.com so if you're not sure of the exact name, or you have 'specials' check to see how they are listed there.

If you use Moving Pictures for films, the title and year should do it, you can also add the imdb number if you need to, eg..

Oblivion 2013 (tt1483013)

But just Oblivion 2013 should work.

That is a very brief overview, all of the plug ins have a wiki which will give you lots more detail, you could also look at the IMDB+ plug in.

As Lisa mentions, MP-TV Series plugin is the 1 you need.

And if you setup SickBeard besides that, and let that handle all the downloading, renaming and moving to the right folders, then let TV Series automatically import it, all you need to do is Power On your system and enjoy
