Mediaportal is unable to reach network drive (1 Viewer)

Hi,

I've been using MP v1.1.2 with the Moving Pictures plugin for a few months with no problems at all, with MP picking up my media files from a Home Media Network Hard Drive via wifi. I recently upgraded MP to v1.2 and can no longer reach the external drive.

I have been through the user guide, forum and known issues but I am unable to fix this issue.

I'd been looking for more rounded. fully inclusive media GUI and think MP is a great piece of software and would appreciate some help getting it to reach my media collection.

Hi Rob,

This is hard to debug this way - you are not telling us what really happens. Do you have error messages? Does MP hang or crash? Could you please post the log files? If you have been through the forums, you must know how to report an issue.

Thanks for your response, in answer to your questions nothing happens it simple does not pick up the network drive. I have tried the known issues response but can not manage to get the drive to show. I think this will be something simple and that I m overlooking something.

I'll just run through the process I follow and tell you where it stops;

Open MP configuration application
Go to music / video / pictures
Click music folder
Click add
Browse media folder / optical drive
Click networks
At this point I believe the external should be showing but it is not. Other things are though printer etc..

And thats pretty much it, unable to see the drive and therefore not able to get the media.

Not sure whether a log will show this, but I will post one if required.

Can you reach it otherwise through your computer?
Do you know the unc-path to it, and if so have you tried using that instead?

Yes, hard drive can be reach through by two laptops and various other software.

No, I don't know the unc-path name.

I will try to find it.
