    Hi

I just got a new 3d tv for boxing day (yay). To play framepacked bluray iso files (ie 3D that is not SBS or OU) you must use an external player. However the issue I have is that MediaPortal will try to launch powerdvd before the image has finished mounting which then throws off an error in powerdvd.

    My setup is as follows

    Daemontools lite for mounting image.
PowerDVD Ultra 14 external player for watching mounted iso.

Currently I'm using the following work around.

    LaunchPDVD.bat
    Code:
    ping 1.2.3.4 -n 1 -w 750
    call "C:\Program Files (x86)\CyberLink\PowerDVD14\PowerDVD.exe" k:

Sorry no log files at present, but I don't think they would add anything. I guess you could equally blame powerdvd as much as MediaPortal.

They will show (at least) the mount time:
    [2015-01-01 14:58:13,517] [Log ] [MPMain ] [DEBUG] - Mount time: 0,15s

I guess you could equally blame powerdvd as much as MediaPortal.
or Deamontools for a slow mount ;)

I just did a quick test with Virtual Clonedrive, mounts fast/fine, but PDVD14 gives 'unsupported disc' error (which is related to the disc. Unfortunately i don't have any other ISO files to test with.

Give it a try with the fullscreen Movie player, maybe that helps (looks a LOT nicer at least!) ;)
    C:\Program Files (x86)\CyberLink\PowerDVD14\Movie\PowerDVD Cinema\PowerDVDCinema.exe

    Thanks for the tip.

If i recall correctly is an unsupported disc error that i get. However with the delay it works fine.

I also get this error from this disc, when i start PDVD from desktop and try to play the movie, so seems related to the disc in my case, and not a delay on startup.

Would be nice to compare some loading times between DT & CD.
When i have PDVD14 open and i load an ISO, in general PDVD picks it up in about a second.

I can make pdvd auto load the movie. But i can't make it start in full screen. Have you been able to do that?

It's been a long long time since i used an external player, but in the past i was able to let it start fullscreen.
Maybe it's as simply as putting it fullscreen on desktop and then exit it?
What i also recall is that you had to load a blu-ray disc before you could adjust the DTS-HD audio settings for it.
I'll see if i can get it fullscreen also.

Start PDVD Cinema from desktop, set it fullscreen and hit the X.
The next time it starts, it will be fullscreen ;)
right mouse button for accessing settings menu.

And it also seems to have a nice refreshrate changer build in ;)

Cool I'll try that. The playback quality in pdvd seems really nice. I'm only using it for iso playback but I'll have to do some ab comparison with other files. Ifthereisadifference it willbe interesting to know why. Codecs? Renderer? It automatically disables aero while it is running too, not sure if that makes a quality difference.

So it seems powerdvd cinema takes longer to start up that powerdvd. The delay is long enough for the image to be mounted properly.

Good, so you got it fixed and have a nice fullscreen interface ;)
I'll update this thread to 'No Bug'.
