I have un-installed a previous version of MP (0.22 I think) and then installed (from scratch) MP 1.0.2 on a ACER 1500 and am having numerous problems - Most of which will be my fault

I have had the TV aerial checked and was told that the signal strength is high enough

It has taken me about a week to master the minor problems and I am now working on the serious ones which seem interrelated. Basically My TV wont work. There are two problems
(1)Some channels (ABC and SBS) will not work at all and I only get a blank screen
(2)Other channels give a picture but stall and will only start after X (to get full screen) and then -> are pressed.
I have collected log files with some difficult of case 2 and (I hope) managed to attach them.
I would like some guidance on what to do next

I can't see much in the log files that stands out, but one thing to check is whether you can see the channels in the TV Server config section.
Open TV Server config, then go to tv channels, click on one that you want to check and hit "preview".
If it works ok there, then the issue is with your streaming or something at that end.
If you get the same symptoms, then the issue is with the tuning and the setup in TV Server. This will at least help you determine where to start looking.

    Cheers,
    Marcus.

    MMM More questions

    First thanks for the idea

    I ran TV Sever Configurator

Clicked on Prime Wollongong (Frequency 655500) Channel 6

Then with that Channel Marked Cliked on Preview and nothing happened.

I have enclosed the log which seems to indicate that the request was going to tune ABC HDTV
    Freq 697500 Channel 20 (SIGNAL LEVEL: 0, SIGNAL QUALITY: 45 )

Do you have anyy other ideas
    :D:D

Am really unsure what to do next

I have uninstalled and reintalled MediaPortal

I have made sure that Windows Media center worked (It did not) and then got it working (It worked OK for some channels)

I wondered if I had a hybrid card and disabled the analgoue input

I then retested runinng TV Server Configurator = Clicked on Prime Wollongong (Frequency 655500) Channel 6

Then with that Channel Marked Clicked on Preview and nothing happened.

I then checked with a working version of MediaPortal and found no problems there with preview - it worked perfectly!

Does ANYONE Have any other ideas -

Try manually starting a recording or timeshift inTVServer, and a) see if a file is created and if so b) see if you can play the file using VLC

    Thanks for the response.

Since I first posted I have run numerous trials. Trying to get a consistent set of symptoms is driving me mad.

However I have found that it was possible to record (and play) most of the TV channels. However some give a jitter and slur words on play back

I have also found that after the system "un-stalls" (Item 2 in the first post ) I can get MyTV to play selected channels and it will change both to and from these channels.

Some of my experience seems to imply that it is almost as if the TV decoding is too slow for the computer to catch.

I have tried to make sure that the computer is running only one program has adeuate memory and that it is kept upto date with the Microsoft updates.

I am afraid that I might have set the configuration up wrongly but have no evidence of this?

Are the logs I supplied adequate?

I have been away - my wife had her 60th birthday and so I have not been able to work on this

However I have now got back and am really puzzled. As I said I can record channels (mostly) but it won't play. I have also read my earlier notes and find that I have installed verson 1.0.0 of MP and that worked fine

I guess that I could install the 1.1 alpha and hope

I have tried to clean up the computer to get it to run faster

But just now I am almost out of ideas. - So any help or especailly advice would be appreciated
