I have a wide screen (1:2.37) and when I watch movies with 16:9 aspect ratio the movie is in the middle of the screen with black bars at the sides.
But in most cases, movies are wider (1:2.35 - 1:2.40). In that case, my projector stretches the picture (which has black bars above and below the movie) vertically so the ~800 lines of the movie are stretched to the full 1080 lines of the projector. Then, an anamorphic lens stretches the picture horizontally so the movie uses all the pixels in the projector and the picture covers all the screen.
1) My main problem is that I want to move the subtitles up so they will be on the movie and not below it - only in 1:2.37 movies. Is there a way? Now I'm using SAF (MPC HC).
2) I also would like that the OSD during the movie will be on the movie and not below and above it. Maybe there is a way to make MediaPortal think the resolution is 1920x800 so the movie+subtitles+OSD will fit inside, or maybe there is another solution? I use StreamedMP.
