Maybe I should post this request somewhere else (admins: feel free to move it to another forum), but I need to start somewhere. A couple of weeks ago I purchased a HD2600Pro with AVIVO HD. AVIVO, when displaying video with the video renderer set to 'overlay', improves the image's colour and sharpness. So, when I watch TV using WinTV or Divx/Xvid videos through MPC (with overlay mixer enabled) the image quality is improved substantially. I wanted to try to do the same thing for Mediaportal, but unfortunately MP only supports VMR. AVIVO on the other hand only supports Overlay for image improvement. Is it possible to include overlay support in a future MP-release or some plugin or other to fix this? Because I can image that I'm not the only one who wants to use this AVIVO-feature and I doubt whether Ati would extend this feature to VMR...

    1) AVIVO should support VMR9 & EVR (ATI knows that overlay is a dying dinosaur)
    2) MP won't ever support overlay (the support has been dropped over a year ago and it wont be back)

    Thx for the quick response.

The reason I didn't gather AVIVO supporting VMR9 & EVR was the fact that the helpfile delivered with my Catalyst driver says it only supports 'overlay'. But I'll look more into it and see what I'll come up with (maybe it's a matter of 'not now, maybe later' or something). BTW, I completely understand why MP won't support 'overlay' anymore (why would you stick with a slow & crappy renderer?), I just hoped there would be a simple solution to my request. Thanks again!
