MediaPortal Version: 1.1.1
Windows Version: Window 7
1. TV Card: Hauppage WinTV HVR3000
Remote: Hauppauge 45 Buttons

Hi there,

MediaPortal runs pretty much fine for me and my remote works without issues however all my other remotes (e.g. surround system and air conditioner) also trigger events in MediaPortal although I don't want them to. In Windows Media Center and in WinTV only the Hauppauge remote works, but if I am using MediaPortal and then use the air con remote to adjust the temperature then MediaPortal changes the channel. This also happens when I adjust the volume on my surround system or use my tv remote to change TV settings. Pretty much every remote triggers something which shouldn't be triggered.
Is there any way to filter the signals by device or something like that? I don't understand why this is only an issue in MediaPortal.
Thanks a lot!

Frederik

    Hi and welcome to MediaPortal

You could try removing the extra information for the hauppauge remote by editing the Hauppauge HCW.xml found at C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\InputDeviceMappings\defaults, try removing the other remote mapping info only and see if that helps.

Cancel above, just use the attached xml, unzip first and overwrite :D

Thanks for that. That updated xml file works exactly like I wanted it to work, however I do not understand why this made any difference.
What's the point in choosing the specific model of the Hauppauge remote in the configuration screen if it is responding to all three anyway? Did I understand that correctly that this now worked because you simply removed the other two remote from the config file?!

    Cheers, Frederik
