I have found an issue on my system using MP1.3.0A, where music playback stops whenever MediaPortal screensaver kicks in.

If I then make a user input, the screen comes back and the music appears to be paused, but does not continue to play. If I click stop, and then try to play the music again, then BASS player fails and MP reports that it is "unable to play:" the mp3.

If I repeat the same scenario with the Internal Music Player selected rather than BASS then the music still stops when the screen saver kicks in, but when I make a user input the music un-pauses when the screen recovers.

I have searched the bug thread and Mantis and I can not find this bug reported yet.

Steps to reproduce are basically: Play any music and wait for screen saver, then wait for 300 seconds (or whatever set) until screensaver.

(note: I have tried this with PowerScheduler++ disabled and it still occurs, so it appears to be a screensaver issue).

    Debug logs are attached.

    Possibly....

Clearly my occurrence is another step worse than this mantis entry though, since the music stops and it causes a failure of BASS which requires an MP close and restart to resolve. This behaviour is new to MP1.3.0A for me and I never saw it with 1.2.3 or earlier.

I have made some changes to my settings (changed the screensaver setting to "blank screen" rather than "reduce CPU") to see if that changes anything, and I will report back.

Should we change the title of the thread, since this is related to screensaver, not necessarily standby?

Don't think it's related to that mantis entry, since that's current behavior (and mantis is set to 'new feature').
I do LOVE to see that mantis get in soon though!

I'm using the build in PowerScheduler plugin and have 'blank screen after 300 secs' enabled. When playing music or radio, i've never had audio drop when it blanks.

I have changed it. Good point.[DOUBLEPOST=1347806602][/DOUBLEPOST]Same behaviour occurs with screensaver set to "blank screen".

Basically, from what I can tell on both my systems, music just does not seem to be detected by the screen saver as playing media.

Right then. I think this might be my cock-up (sorry).

I have this problem on two HTPCs, and I have spent the last couple of hours playing with my client PC to see what might be causing it (not to say that I hadn't tried to fix it before, but HomeY's comment made me convinced that it must be localised to my setup).

It turns out, that I had my client basic windows 7 power setting to allow the video output to turn off after 5 minutes (although, I haven't actually set this myself to the best of my knowledge). Since I send audio over HDMI to my AV amp, this was causing the audio to stop too.

I think it may have been the latest install of PowerScheduler++ that has a option to configure the Windows power settings which may have caused this config change. I will investigate and let Michael know if it is. I will need to look at my other HTPC which doesn't use HDMI (so I am not sure what it might be happening there too), but for the time being I suggest this is set to "No Bug".

    Sorry for the time wasting!

    Rob
