MediaPortal suitable for a 60 cm analog TV? (1 Viewer)

MP does not appear to be suitable for a 60 cm 4:3 analog TV or is there a way to increase the font size? I was considering to buy a 80 cm LCD TV but it seems a waste of money as probably most of the content I watch is 4:3. The side bar (hope this is the right terminology) is not ideal for a medium size 4:3 TV like mine as it takes a lot space for features rarely used. I wish it could be disabled moving the functionality in sub menus or is this possible?

I'm rather new to MP and while it's really feature rich I still miss a lot features, because of that I consider to contribute to the development since I'm looking for a new project because I want to put StaxRip development on the low for some months.

I think your best chance is to try using a 4:3 skin with large enough fonts. You can also modify the text size by editing the XML-files.

Thanks, I've changed in references.xml textureHeight and font of default listcontrol. I might as well try to make the sidebar smaller. I've removed the icon by assigning a negative value. I have some questions regarding xml customization, will create a new thread.
