Thanks ronilse!

That sounds credible. Can this also be the root cause to the fact that MP hangs when I try to resume from S3-standby?

Thanks ronilse and Paranoid Delusion! Reinstalling the RC4 as a singleseat installation did solve this specific problem. There are however still problems to resume MediaPortal&TVserver from suspend. Sometimes MP crashes and sometimes I just have to wait ~5 minutes with a blank screen until MediaPortals interface shows up.

I have now once again gone back to an clean RC2 installation where resume from suspend (S3) still works. Something happened in one of the SVN:s of RC2 and since then this resume from suspend issue has been ongoing. :(

When that hang happens please check you MediaPortal.log for power state event messages. There should be 18 & 7 coming when PC is properly waken up, if not it indicates some HW / driver issue.

For RC4 the MediaPortal side of power event handling was changed as MediaPortal was reacting too early for the system messages (which causes some issues). I.e. previously the AUTOMATIC resume event was triggering resume on MP side and that can cause issues with display drivers, autoplay... It might be that we need to add a setting to enable support for badly behaving drivers/HW as few users have reported that their HW is not generating the power event #7 when waking up.
