These Subversion-snaps are compiled at about 01.00h (CET).
You can also visit the official irc-channel (#mediaportal) to get a notice when its ready for download. The trigger !svn gives you the latest update too.
They are not pre-tested, so please use the backup option from time to time.
If you'd like the bleeding edge code and don't mind the inherent risks, upgrade to the snapshot releases as they become available.
If stability is important to you, you might want to stay with the fully-tested releases.

How to install MediaPortal SVN-Snapshots in short:

1) Install latest MediaPortal Release 0.2.2.0, not necessary if already done
2) install .NET Framework Version 2.0
3) Run the Snapshot-Installer. You should create a backup.
4) Run Configure. Sometimes the settings and database versions change from build to build, so you have to reconfigure your TV for example
5) Hopefully enjoy the new version
6) If not, restore your old files and you will have the former version back.

Music problem

Gabless playback and fadein/out is disable, but it fadesin/out anyway. But the big problem is the often the songs aren't played to the end. it just changes song on the middle of the song. if you look at the log at time 2007-04-09 17:10:11.671875 you will see that it change to the next song 1.5 min later. And that song is far longer than that. It isn't a single incident, it happens quite often.

Lock up after playing music for 50 mins!

Going to check this out a bit more before I do a bug report but thought I would see if anyone else has had something similar.

Setup I am using is single seat TV3 with lastest SVN's and the skin is Replicant 1.0.6.

Music Player is BASS with ASIO using ASIOALL v2, Visulizations enabled and using
Cor Cosmic Nebulae (Sonique).


After selecting music I return to the 'Now Playing' screen. After playing exactly 50 min of music the UI locks completely, shown by the clock freezing, music continues fine. Only way out is to kill the process, this results in a hrrible nose from the speakers and a crash/restart of XP!

As I was playing the same album is could be that, doubt it and hence why I will do some more investigation....but anyone experianced anything similar?

Logs attached - Started playing music at 20.41, UI locked at 21.31

Just done another test, this time with visualisations turned off and all is fine, so guess it is linked to that as was repeatable before.

Volume control doesn't work

When in my music using BASS player the volume control doesn't work at all, well it does turn down, but it doesn't affect the output.

Hmmm. Sounds very much like SPDIF to me.
IF you are rerouting the sound from digital out to a seperate amp, you will get this. The Volume info is not transmitted in the digital output and the volume control in MP is not longer relevant. You have to control volume on your amp.

Is this you problem?
If not, trash this

i use analouge oout, not SPDIF but thanks anyway
