Infos:
These Subversion-snaps are compiled at about 01.00h (CET).
You can also visit the official irc-channel (#mediaportal) to get a notice when its ready for download. The trigger !svn gives you the latest update too.
They are not pre-tested, so please use the backup option from time to time.
If you'd like the bleeding edge code and don't mind the inherent risks, upgrade to the snapshot releases as they become available.
If stability is important to you, you might want to stay with the fully-tested releases.

How to install MediaPortal SVN-Snapshots in short:

1) Install latest MediaPortal Release 0.2.2.0, not necessary if already done
2) install .NET Framework Version 2.0
3) Run the Snapshot-Installer. You should create a backup.
4) Run Configure. Sometimes the settings and database versions change from build to build, so you have to reconfigure your TV for example
5) Hopefully enjoy the new version
6) If not, restore your old files and you will have the former version back.

USB-UIRT Device not detected.

On my rock steady system I went crazy today and decided to try out another skin, I also took the opportunity to upgrade to latest svn. I install latest SVN once a week aprox.

However, after I installed the latest SVN and downloaded and installed the Aqua skin I found that the remote didn't work with that skin so I switched back to BlueTwo just to find that the remote had stopped in that skin as well. (obviously).

I checked out the remote settings and found that Media Portal config report that the USB-UIRT device couldn't be detected. I know for a fact that it's in place, I tried other tools to verify it's existence and I even re-installed the drivers.

I then started to roll back in the SVN snapshots thread, but even if I take an SVN from three weeks back I can't get the USB-UIRT to be detected. Has anyone else found this behavior lately?

I have set the option to turn on TV when entering in MyTV, but if I put PC to sleep when I turn it on again TV won't automatically turn on when entering MyTV...I see a black screen on the right and a little black preview screen in the left lower corner, and I have to turn on tv manually in order to see something inside TV

I also noticed that MP doesn't resume from standby to record a tv show, and even if you turn on PC after the show started it doesn't start to record until you go into MyTV and turn TV on...I then went back to an older SVN

Joche, I install about 2 or 3 versions of the TV server and MP a day... I am also using a USB-UIRT and have not had any problems. Currently on versions 14436 and not having any problems with my USB-UIRT.

Here are the Driver numbers you need to have for it to work. I am pretty sure the latest drivers do not work with MP.

    In the device manager:

    Provider: FTDI
    Date: 3/17/2003
    Version: 1.5.5.0

    In MP:

    Firmware version: 5.9 - 3/26/2004
    Plugin version: 1.16 2/18/2006

Hope this helps. There are also other older posts around the forums about the UIRT not being found...

Thanks for your help, it encouraged me to move on. I uninstalled everything with the USB-UIRT, downloaded new drivers and installed it again. Now it works. It was my system, not the svn, nor the aqua skin. (Which I never really thought, but I wanted to point out the steps I made.)
