Yep, this SVN is very unstable, slow and crashes during channel changes very often.

    Avoid.

I too have this problem (using SVN 15959). Mediaportal not responding and have to be forced to close resulting in an Event Viewer event 1002 - Application Hang "The program MediaPortal.exe version 0.2.2.9991 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed".

Edit: Looks like it is happening both on digital and analog tv cards/channels.

Gents, the MCE remote seems to be broken in these recent SVNs.
Only the basic keys work over here.

You can fix that by using the MediaPortalDirs.xml posted in this thread :

    https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/mce_remote_not_working-t27975.html

But this is not really the solution, that i must copy everytime i install a new SVN, this file in my mp folder.

The solution for me with VISTA was to uninstal RC2 (with any SVN's), delete all folder contents then instal RC2 followed by the most recent SVN and then only run the config.

This has MP now using the instal folder for all logs etc and files instead of the split between different folders and the many problems this causes.

    RC2 and some early SVN's use the C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal

    Where more recent SVN's use C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal

This version appears to fatally crash my system almost every time I use it - usually after I've watched TV or a recording, although I haven't quite worked out if there's a sequence to the crashing whilst using MediaPortal. Using WinXP, and system usually very stable and rarely crashes. The logs don't appear to be showing anything 'unusual' as the crash is instant and freezes the system and requires a reboot.
