Hello.

I first wanna say im really new at this and forgive me if my questions are really stupid.. i have triend to find answers by searching but havent found them..

Firstly. is it even possible to use Mediaportal with my Telia IPTV subscription.
Ive read someplaces that say that all channels are cryptated so its not possible but all those statements are from 2009 so is it still impossible to use or has something change?

I have a legit iptv subscription with an ID and pw through Telia Fiber so im not trying to do anythin ileegal, but i just want to see my tv on my htpc instead of on the tv and through the box.

In the guide for the tv-server there is also alot of talk about tv-cards wich confuses me, couse im not getting my TV signals through any kind of coax or antenna cables, as im use Telia Fiber i get the tv signal through an CAT5 cable. soi dont think i will need a tv card correct?

an guide how to set this up with true IPTV would be reallly apriciated if it does work.

thankyou,

/Rickard

    Hi and welcome Rickard :)

So do you have a smartcard from Telia that has to be inserted into the box to allow the channels to be decrypted?

    hello. thnx for reply.

no, no smartcard or anything like that.

all i got from Telia was a HD-box that i simply connect to my RJ45 outlett with a CAT5 cable.

And when connected and the Box (Motorola VIP1003 HDMI) boots up it asks for a username and password.

    Hi again

If you don't have a smartcard and all the channels are encrypted then I would say it is not possible - MP has no way to decrypt the channels.

mm is right, only unencrypted IPTV is possible in MP. You could make some crazy setup and loop the analogue out from your box back into the HTPC with a capture card and use an IR-Blaster, but that would be silly.

^ Then I've been silly for may years :D

In short: Been there - Tried everything - Gave up - Went DVB-T
My provider is/was (still paying) Altibox who probably uses same tech.
