Mediaportal TP-LINK issue (1 Viewer)

I've recently installed an acer revo windows 7 computer in my bedroom in mind to connect to my pc downstairs on a network, so I thought it was a good idea and purchased a TP-LINK 500 Mbps powerline adapter so I could have a good connection instead of using wireless.

The problem is that up to now, mediaportal will show all the information (ie. epg on tv server, tv series and movie info and artwork) so it's all connected but it just won't follow through and play when selected.
I can play stuff on windows mediaplayer but for some reason mediaportal won't let it play through it. Firewall is turned off so it's not a problem through that.

Any suggestions and advice would be helpful.

Thanks

Please excuse my lack of knowledge on this, but what do you mean by log? And I'll try and sort that out.

Many thanks

Thank you, I've figured it out :)

Please see the attached files, i hope they mean something to you![DOUBLEPOST=1407876741][/DOUBLEPOST]Hi, please ignore that last email, my server was shut down so ill do it again!! Whoops[DOUBLEPOST=1407877479][/DOUBLEPOST]Right,

Please see attached file relating to the tv server. I hope it helps.

Regarding a log for the moving pictures, when i'm in debug mode, the mediaportal home screen only has the Videos option and not moving pictures no i wasn't sure if sending you that log that was relevant.

Many thanks

Hmmm, the TV service doesn't look connected to me. At least not in the 21:44 and 21:45 logs. I see these messages:
    [2014-08-12 21:45:37,969] [Log ] [TvClient-TvHome: HeartBeat transmitter thread] [INFO ] - RemoteControl - Disconnected

The 21:57 logs are different. I see this:

So the client manages to connect to the server... however, ~60 seconds later we're back to the same issue:

Are you sure your network connection is reliable?
Server using a fixed IP address (192.168.1.4)?

Regarding a log for the moving pictures, when i'm in debug mode, the mediaportal home screen only has the Videos option and not moving pictures no i wasn't sure if sending you that log that was relevant.
Use option 2 in the watchdog to keep all plugins enabled during testing.

Well the IP address has been the same since connecting so I assume it's fixed, as I understand none fixed IP change all the time.
When you say if it's reliable, how do I know if it is?
I tried to link up to my server on MP tv config by its name and not via IP address, but it didn't like it, but that IP address connects (turns green when you press test and not red)

I've attached a photo of my router configuration which I assumed shows the fixed IP addresses.

Also, the fact I can play movies via a normal media player in windows, I can understand why it is like this.

Ill use the option 2 setting and send over the log. I'm may be tomorrow now as I'm busy with work.

    Thanks for your advice

    John
