The basic problem is the quality of the TV using the MP in TV viewing mode. It is full of "noise", as you can see in the attached picture.
Yet on the setup in the TV Server, if I select any channel and "Preview", the image is absolutely clean.
Sound is clear in all conditions.
CPU - Stable at 1.2GB ram (of the 2GB), with CPU load at 57%.
I'm a new user, so might be missing something obvious. Installation seemed to go fine. Tuner is an AverTV PC 150 Plus. Also have an ATI9800 Pro AIW, but not using it for a tuner.
I tried different combinations of codecs in the settings, but I cannot identify any difference, so this is an area where my knowledge is very minimal.
I also see that if I play video from the web, it too has the same visual effect as shown below.
