Hello,
I am using Mediaportal to view my large collection of nature footage on a 37 lcd. It works fine and gives much more enjoyment then doing this on a small comp monitor. However, I would like to fill up the widescreen with Mediaportal, but that does not seem possible. I find that strange, because nowadays almost everybody using Mediaportal has a widescreen tv. I wonder what am I doing wrong? I connect a laptop through VGA to the tv, tried several resolutions, but I never get my screen filled up, unless I switch the television to widescreen. But then the video images shown have no natural proportions. What am I doing wrong?

Have you tried right mouse Click on FullScreen and changed the aspect Ratio?

Change that to Stretched and see if that helps.

P.S are the Black Lines Vertical or Horizontal?

What is the native resolution of the lcd, these are usually found under pc connectivity or specifications.

You may have to add a custom resolution to your graphics adapter.

Well, full HD should be 1920x1080 - use 50 or 60 Hz.

    Info needed:
    - Graphic card type and...
--> What res. are you using?
--> Are you cloning the screen (displayed on both LCD TV and monitor)?

    - TV

Like Spragleknas said we need to know a few other things.

But if you have a Nvidia chip set then this screen shot should help you "force" the output into HDTV

My graphic card: ATI MOBILITY RADEON X300
    I tried all possible resolutions.
I have switched between cloning and not cloning. Same result

    For 1080p w/ATI:
    xbox_hddvd_12.jpg

There is only 1080p 60 Hz (no PAL (ARGHHHH)).

Add this resolution, and use the "Force->" when setting display settings in CCC

    Thanks for the info.

With all the experimenting with settings, i now do not have any tv image anymore. I was adding a second monitor in monitor settings and played a bit with resolutions, until I had a black tv screen. My first monitor now has only three possible resolutions and the second has 13 possible resolutions (the highest 2048*1536). I can switch between the 2 monitors, but nothing changes on the tv. What could I do to restore this? I tried everything.
    Thanks,
    Rob
