Mediaportal wont start (1 Viewer)

I have a HTPC with Vista installed.

I have installed Mediaportal on this machine along with 4 The Record.
Last night it all worked.
Today I turned it on, and was about to start MediaPortal. Except Windows immidiatly says it cant start and it will look for a solution.

I believe Windows installed some update last night, but Im not sure.

Is there something I can check to see what went wrong with MediaPortal?

TV Server is running.

I can open TV Server conf. and I can preview channels in there.
I can open MediaPortal Conf.
4 The record is working.


But MediaPortal just wont start.

try system restore for 48 hours ago and see if that resolves it.

a lot of HTPC users switch off system restore altogether for the reason you describe.

its always a good idea to have a recent disk image handy for situations like this (acronis, driveimage xml, ghost, etc)

I believe I had a falty harddrive.
I got a lot of other errors later.

ended up removing he drive and reinstalling it all. Works again.
