Hallo,
I have MediaPortal installed on machine with Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-1100. When the Green button on remote is pressed, MediaPortal goes down, but Windows still running.

So i've created an application in .NET which is watching, if MediaPortal is running. If not, then shut the Windows down. The "watching interval" is adjustable, depending on your machine performance. You can measure, how long MediaPortal starts, add few second and that's your interval.

Maybe help this program to someone. (And sorry about my english).

Requirements:
Windows XP
MediaPortal 0.2.3.0
.NET Framework 2.0

As an alternative you could go into the Remote configuration inside MP Configuration. Go to your remote setup (Hauppauge I guess from your post) and go to ... Learning I think (no remote at the office, so I do this from memory). Then into Mapping. Then open the submenus for the Power Button (or Green Button) and instead of Action "Close MediaPortal" you can choose "Shutdown", which gives you the same shutdown menu that you get from pressing the Shutdown button in Home Screen, or if you're sure about this, even choose Shutdown Windows.
