Hi,
i like MediaPortal, but i got a problem with my Medion remote control. I can't start MP with my rc if I press the power-button. I tried to use mptray, but it doesn't work! Please help me, i think it is important to be able to start mp with rc!

If my english is bad, im sorry, im german!

Youll have to find alternative software, as mptray is designed for MCE2005 remotes only.

Medion remotes...

I have two different Medion remotes and had them working for a while with Mediaportal with a plugin. I found them slow and unreliable. I think it was more the plugin's fault as they worked great with the crappy Cyberlink software.
Also as they were different, I had to configure them differently due to different button names. That was very painful remembering what button did what... Also that had a low WAF. :evil:

I eventually bought an MCE Remote and I haven't looked back.
At the risk of sounding like a Microsoft salesman (I'm not), they work 'out of the box' without any configuration required. They even work in many other programs that do not have Remote control support!
I have a few Mediaportal's in my house and I like the fact if I can't find a remote (kids!), I can grab another one (I have 3 MCE Remotes) and just use that. That has a high WAF! :lol:

Do yourself a favour and just buy an MCE remote (the European version, more buttons).
They can also control two other external devices such as a Set top box and the TV (on/off).
FYI. I lied a little, I did actually configure 2 teletext buttons. 1 one for ejecting the CD/DVD and the other for screenshots. This isn't necessary of course, just handy.
