Don't know if anyone tried it, but it works!!! I have a EEEPC 701 (4G) with dual boot (XP on SD Card) and I have no problem running MP on it.
TV stutters a litle in windowed mode but flawless in fullscreen!!!
I was realy surprised with it!?!

I have the eee-box, and I can play 720p x264 content with CoreAVC. You can forget about 1080p tho.

After I converted some fanart to .bmp and tweaked some other settings a bit, its working perfectly for me. Its almost completely silent as well =)

It has DVI out, optical S/PDIF and GBIT network.. All I need as a frontend

Is the eee box capable to deliver 720P to a TV via DVI? And in 50 HZ (PAL)?
Or if not, is it capable of delivering 576i 50Hz?

Yes, at least your normal scene 720p TV episode. You need to purchase coreavc tho.

Just to be sure - is it really able to output HDMI standard 720p 50Hz? Using DVI to HDMI cabling?
I mean I do not want to use PC standard like 1280x768 for instance.

I've been experimenting with all kinds of resolutions before and the only thing that in my opinion works when feeding a TV is to use the "HD Ready" standard signals, such as 720p, 576i (or 1080i, etc).

And of course I need a decoder such as CoreAVC or the like.

How would you connect a remote, regarding an small and functional usb device?
