    SVN-snapshot from: MediaPortal-svn--09-18-2007--01-02-Rev15947.exe

    error description:
    1. start mediaportal in fullscreen mode
    2. error dialog appears, concealed by splash screen
    3. click OK
    4. MePo continues to load
    5. Desktop displays w/o toolbar
    6. close MePo (w/Alt-F4, since no GUI appears)
    7. Crash error dialog appears

    desired behaviour:
MePo should display 1st error dialog w/o splash screen, then exit gracefully, when OK is clicked.

    attachments:
    rsbrux.zip
contains screenshots and logs from MediaPortal-svn--09-16-2007--01-02-Rev15917.exe
behaviour is the same in newest SVN (see above)

    Hi,
This it's not a MP bug but a skin bug, please post this in MePo thread instead. Only BlueTwo & BlueTwo Wide can be changed by the MP Team ;)

    Regards
    Roy

    Hi Roy,
Thanks for responding, but I don't understand your answer. Which MePo thread do you mean? The observed symptoms *were* with BlueTwo & BlueTwo wide.

Display Tab 1: The system is using the generic video driver. Please install video driver provided by the hardware manufacturer. Direct3D functionality not available. You should verify that the driver is a final version from the hardware manufacturer.

Thats why. DirectX is a must. Please read the requirements.

Try updating your Nvidia Driver, as Mr Hip says, it is showing as not installed correctly.

You are absolutely right, the nVidia driver was not installed at the time. However, I still expect MePo to give a legible error message and exit gracefully, if it cannot run.

rsbrux, this it's MePo, thats one of the skins MP have ;)

Thanks, but I prefer to stick with the standard skins. I wasn't aware that there is a skin called "MePo". I was just using MePo as an abbreviation for Media Portal, as MP seems quite ambiguous ("Member of Parliament" for a Brit!)
