My videos are located on two seperate hard drives. And i was wondering if there was a way that i could display them all as one large drive in mediaportal, instead of seperating them into the different movie folders.

I hope that makes sense.

It makes complete sense, and I would like to do this as well. Some programs sucha s SageTV scan your hard drives and create a media directory from all of them. I don't like this method either because I like to keep separate directories for Television Shows and Movies etc.

I don't know if it is possible to create a virtual directory in Windows XP (or Server 2003). My file server runs Server 2003 and I have two movie folders (on different drives): Movies and Movies2. I'd like to make one virtual directory containing those two folders, and map MP to it.

Another thing that would be useful to add to MP is a sort of combine function for directories. So if you map several directories to your Movie locations, it would be nice if you could highlight 2 or more specific ones and "Combine" them in MP to form a contiguous movie library from those folders.

You can do this already within MP. You first need to download the IMDB movie details for ALL your movies. The movie will need to be in the database for this to work. Then you just need to switch the view to Title. After testing this out to make sure it works (which it does) there is a small bug. I like my movies to show with the BIG ICON. When I start up a movie and then hit B (stop) it changes my view to icon. Not a big deal, but a small bug none-the-less.

Yes you can, but I am finding some problems with it.

For some stuff, particularly TV shows, when you run the search it will override old manually edited entries, or create double entries for some items. It also misses some completely (in one instance, the last season of the Sopranos.)

MCE handles this much better, since it can have separate menus for Movies and for Videos. For example, in Videos you can scan all directories you point it to and then it will show icons representing each folder containing an individual show. So you have an icon for the Sopranos containing all the Sopranos episodes you placed in that folder, an icon for Sex in the City, etc.

The My Movies menu (I used the My Movies plug in,) will scan all directories you point it to and it will show thumbnails of all your movies (DVD ripped to Video_ts, in my case,) regardless on which drive they reside.

It would be great to implement something like this in MP, where one can sort out their videos into several menu items and be able to see all titles contained in a menu item, regardless in what directory they reside.
