Microsoft IR receiver and 3rd party remote control (1 Viewer)

Hello

Looks like my Microsoft remote control was broken. Is there way to setup microsoft ir receiver - to receive and process signals from another ir remote controls (like regular tv or dvd remotes)

Who know please help with software names and advices

Are you certain the remote is broken, leave any batteries out for half a hour and then reinsert, this is because the early M$ remotes had a diode that needed to discharge properly on a battery change, otherwise it would not work correctly again.

Also uninstall the ehome ir receiver in device manager and then remove the recievers usb plug, now reboot and reinsert once windows has finished loading.

The ehome drivers seem to be very easy to corrupt, so be aware of that.
