I'm a current tvedia user. I'm planning to move to mediaportal because of the lack of a tv/pvr engine. I'm waiting for my new x10 remote to be delivered before I jump. I' have some questions about the features I've not found during the first tests:
* file browse mode: is it possible to browse the local hard disks (I have 3 installed) and pick the files to be played directly without creating a playlist ?
* is there a decoding graph so I can troubleshoot problems if I have one during the playback ?
* what dvd decoder codecs do you recommend ? I'm actually using powerdvd5 for the video and ac3filter for the audio part (I need to output to spdif)

Hi,

1) Yes.
2) Do not know for sure what you mean. You can always use graphedit to troubleshoot playback graphs.
3) It depends. If PDVD works well for you, you can still use it. Some recommend nVidia Purevideo, because of good picture quality. Personally I like MPV (Gabest), others prefer DScaler.
