I installed the update to 0.2.0.4 on my 0.2.0.0 version.
After starting Media Portal it does come up. But there are simply no letters on the screen. Pictures are all there, but for example the menu buttons do not have labels on them.

The program does work (as far as I can get without knowing what I click).

I did the process two times exactly as described in the manuals. Configuration seems to lose my card but lets me add it with no problem.

I fortunately backed up as recommended and changing back works. Did you change any kind of database between those versions? If so I can copy them and try if it works that way.

Oh yes AND: Yes I tried different skins! All appeared without letters.

Regards,
Benny

Have you tried deleting the fonts folder in MP/skins/
MP makes the folder and stores the fonts there to enable faster loads and renders. If you delete it then MP will recreate it. Sounds like yours is corrupt.
Can't hurt to delete all packed*.* files as well.

    Hi,

did this. Didn't help unfortunately. I tried to delete the font dir of the used skin, then all of them, no new effect. Just any letters on the screen are missing...
What do you mean with the packed files? I just deleted the whole directory.

    Thanks for the help anyway...

    Hi,
Nope can't see anything in there which should lead to this.
What kind of graphic card do you have (tried latest driver & it has more then 64 MB? ) ?

Found another issue: The fullscreen mode kills the picture. Sound still there, but no picture. This definitely worked in 0.2.0.0.

Could it be my Video Card is involved in that?

As I wrote into the system decription: a NVidia GeForce. This computer is less then a year old, so I guess the video cdriver should be quite up to date...

    Hi,
I don't know anything about your graphic card, but a quick search & it should be ok (didn't find anything about memory as long as it has 64 or more MB it's ok).

You could try a clean install of MP 0.2.1.0 (uninstall old version & delete/rename MP folder) or try a graphic card driver update.

    Regards

tried the latest driver and guess what.... No change
On the update I habve to think about it, as the old version still runs if I switch to the backup...

Thanks for the help, I'll report in case I can get around this.
