Just installed MP 1.0.2.
Instruction indicates there should be WEBEPG plugin in the TV Server Config.
I do not see it. Gone thru vaious appens w/o any success.
Do i need to download the plugin seperately ? Where can I find WEBEPG plugin and install it ?

After going thru instruction, atleast i can get the both HD and Analog channels to show up but no TV Guide or mapping.
See there is TV Movie EPG import plugin.

I am in NC. Using timewarner cable.
Happauge TV-HVR-2250 card.
BTW, running on window xp pro.

Thanks for the help.

Bump for this problem.

I have reinstaled 1.0.2 and can't find webepg listed in the TV server configs. I'm wary of installing an older version of webepg that I have becuase this seemed to break the Tv server config ...

webepg

I just installed version 1.0.2 also. And like you guys, there is no WebEPG.

Can it be installed separately?

I am not using webepg so I can't really help much.
Is there not a "config" exe as well? Did you try that?

Bump - WebEPG instructions not clear for a 1.0.1 install

I have spent 3 days working on an EPG that I thought was WebEPG, only to find out after getting it working reasonably well that it really was XmlTv. I must have messed up the unzipping and not put the replacement Web.xxx files in the right folder. The good news - I understand the shortcomings of XmlTv, The bad news - Its 3 days of my life I will never get back.

Similarly to posts above, I go into TV-Server but the WebEPG plug-in is not included as is described in this instructional webpage: MediaPortalSetup_WebEPG - MediaPortal Manual Documentation. Apparenlty this only applies to 1.1 Beta/Alpha - 1.0.1 is still done manually.

So how did I get this plugin to work in 1.0.1, you ask?

Well I haven't yet, but hopefully my efforts will help others...

Per a different instructional webpage: mediaportal - Setting up WebEPG, I saved "WebEPG_MP_1_0_0_0_Release.zip" (although I don't know for sure that this is the current version).

These instructions stated that I should unzip it into the C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal folder, which essentially repalces the old WebEPG.exe and WebEPG.dll files, but leaves one called WebEPG-conf.exe

I ran WebEPG-conf.exe and it does result in a config screen. I completed the setup per the instructions, saved it and exited.

Then I ran WebEPG.exe as stated. Sure enough, if you go to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\xmltv\ you will see a file called TVguide-writing.xml. This take a long time to run, particualry if you asked for 14 days, and there is no way to know it is running or when it is done except by noticing that the file is gone and was replaced by TVguide.xml.

Caution - This lack of an indication can be a major source of confusion to a new installer. Be patient - the file will slowly increase in size. It may not change in size for 5 minutes but then it will. DO NOT GO TO STEP 5 UNTIL IT IS DONE.

Next I followed the steps in the instructions that indicate I should open TV-Server Config.

Caution - If you get an error relating to importing files to TVguide.lst, uncheck the realted box on the Settings tab (I don't understand why this is checked by default, but it works when it is not checked, and not when it is - strange)

More good news/bad news - The TV Guide has data (yea) but presenlty there is a 5 hour time shift that is a major pain - Nothin' is easy

Why did I take this route rather than the 1.0 beta route that is reported to have WebEPG as a plug-in in TV-Server? Mainly because of the claim that 1.0.1 is stable. While I am sure someone will be offended by this, my observations are that MP in general is very unintuitive to set up, with it being easy to get off the beaten path. There simply are not enough explanations on what should happen and how to know the steps you did actually worked. BUT once you get it working it is VERY impressive. I guess ease of installation is a typical negative of open source - still better than MS, though. :)

WebEPG still not right for me

IMore good news/bad news - The TV Guide has data (yea) but presenlty there is a 5 hour time shift that is a major pain - Nothin' is easy

The data is definitely in WebEPG. If the time is 3:00, then MP will show 3:00 thru 8:00 for each of the 14 days. If the time is 8:00 pm, then MP will show 8-midnight. Any ideas?

    WebEPG Bump

Come on, guys. I need your help. Not getting support is making it very hard to align with MP.

My WebEPG has all the needed data in the xml file, but will only display a 5 hour window with no way to scroll beyond it, regardless of the day it is on. If the time is 3:09, then MP will show 3:00 thru 8:00 for each of the 14 days. If the time is 8:04 pm, then MP will show 8-midnight.

    What is wrong with this?

I think the reason you are not getting any response is that most folks in the US have never figured out how to get it working and use the XMLTV plugin with MC2xml or zap2xml instead. I hesitate to suggest another direction but I thought I should let you know this is what I use…

If you can get it working please do post a "how to" with a good FAQ
