I have some MKV's with DTS-Core sound in it.
The DTS-Core was extracted with EAC3TO.

The Video works fine with MPC-HC, sound over SPDIF, but in MP it is stuttering an no sound is beeing played.

Info:
Videofile h264 played over CoreAVC
Sound played over SPDIFER.

I guess by spdifer you mean ac3filter. In that case, MP loads the wrong codec for DTS.

1,Have you checked that spdifer is passing through DTS?
2,Are you familiar with merits? Try to set the merit for spdifer higher than mpadecfilter.
3,Try the ac3filter lite, and set the "preferred codec" and "DTS passthrough" checkbox.

SPDIFER is the ultra light AC3filter from the same creator. Merrit for SPDIFER is set to the max value.
For DVD-ISO SPDIFER works fine with DTS-Audio.

Maybe I should try AC3Filter instead.

You could do one more thing, but I can't guarantee it will work and perhaps you don't even want to:

Install ffdshow for aac audio and unregister mpadecfilter.ax

    Or simply install SAF

DTS has always been finicky for me as well.

    1) Don't specifically pick your directsound device in the list, leave it as default direct sound device.
    2) AC3 filter had trouble with DTS on occasion, so did MPA, I found Microsoft/Vista's default filter handled bitstreaming dts and ac3 the best. As crazy as that sounds.

    mr viggo:
I am no fan of the all inclusive packages like SAF or other Codec packs.

    Dr Tone:
How do you use the Microsoft own DTS Filter, with a higher merrit or over unregistering MPC-HC filters?

    Edit:
The only containers/codec I want to use are:
    • Xvid/DivX
    • CoreAVC
    • Cyberlink MPG2
    • MKV
    • DVD
    • AVI
    • AC3
    • DTS

This may not be what you want, but i have used ffdshow for some years now, and it works flawlessly, only thing for dts passthrough is to check the box under(i believe it was just..) 'Output'. I disable mixer since i want my receiver to do that job for me, i also don't want ffdshow to handle h.264/VC1 so that i do disable in ffdshow too, and instead manually register the filter from MPC-HC and use filtermanager to uncheck everything except h264/vc1 with DXVA, and last i install Haali mediasplitter.
