Now that you can configure Media Player Classic to use DXVA when decoding x264 MKV's (Accelerate x.264 1080p movies over the GPU Guide), I'm wondering if it can be done in MediaPortal? If so, is there a guide on how to configure everything? I've got an ATI Radeon 3850HD card btw.

If u dont use subtitles with MKv files all u have to do is using MPC video decoder (have a look here https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/codecs-external-players-55/standalone-filters-mediaportal-saf-44614/#post300495 ) as H264 decoder in MP video configuration pannel.
But if u wanna use MKV + subtitles with DXVA you have to use this latest subtitles engine here :https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/general-development-no-feature-request-here-48/integration-mpc-hc-subtitles-engine-54130/#post371988
