MediaPortal Version: 1.1.3.0
Windows Version: 7 64bit
I only started messing around with MediaPortal yesterday. I have created a few test MKV files (using MakeMKV, direct rips from a DVD), however I can't play these files back in MediaPortal. I can see the files and a 4 screen preview image is shown for each, however when I select the file (episode) to play, I get the popup:
Abspielen nicht möglich: filename.mkv (German version, translation: "Playback not possible:" ).
Video codec: MPEG VIDEO VERSION 2
Audio codec: AC-3
I assume the problem is with the Audio codec, as MediaPortal is able to create the preview image!?
I have installed ddfshow (it was recommended), I have set all the video/audio options to use it - hasn't made any difference.
Anyone know what I'm doing wrong or what I've forgotten?
NOTE: The end result that I am looking for is an easy way to rip all my TV series (DVD's) to HDD and have them nicely sorted within ANY media portal/center.
