MKV Bluray ripped with DVDFab using PGS subtitles I get a lot of the following issue.
    Tried different splitters without joy.
Anyone can get subtitles work proper with MKV? Should I use MP4 rather than MKV? What's your favorite container btw?

I tried VobSub instead of PGS and they don't have that problem. However PGS are anti-aliased and VobSub are not apparently. So PGS are prettier when they work. Has anyone ever had similar issues? Could it be an issue with DVDFab?
I updated LAVFilters to 0.63 but that did not help.

I even tried MP4 with DVDFab and the subtitle quality is worst than with MKV VOBSUB.
So for the time being I'm going to stick with DVDFab MKV and VOBSUB. I'm hoping I can get the guys at DVDFab to fix their PGS.
I've opened a thread about this issue on their forums: http://forum.dvdfab.cn/showthread.php?t=26413

From the my couch I can hardly tell the difference between VOBSUB and PGS anyway...

Ok this was working at some point but I changed again my renderers and that broke it.
Even putting back MS renderers is not helping.
Which component is responsible for sub rendering?
