I was just trying MP out, it seems like a great bit of software. However I can't seem to get a stable picture on the TV. I use other DVB TV software no problems, but the picture stutters really badly using MP. I like get a frame change every 2-3 seconds.

I have tried changing the codes from the default DScaler and other settings, but that just seems to make it worse or I get no picture at all.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Hi Spragleknas,

gfx is an intel onboard gfx card. I have DirectX9 installed (if that is what you were asking?)

I have just found out that if I watch TV in it's own window or full screen (i.e. not as window within media protal), then no stuttering!?!

I only get stuttering when watching TV within Media Portal. I also noticed that my CPU is maxed out.

So if I can figure out how to change the channels whislt in TV full screen, then I suppose I could use MP, but it's not ideal.

Oh Well, maybe I just need a more powerfull PC!

    hey there,
MP heavilly relies on hardware DX9 gfx cards for the rendering (just like a modern 3d game). Most onboard gfx doesn't truely support dx9 operations and as such relies on the CPU to do all the extra rendering, placing a strain on the system.
When there is an MP screen on as well as the TV, then there is an extra overhead on the system as well.

If you want to change channels while in fullscreen TV rather than using the guide, I think the keys are f6 and f5 but not too sure. Check MP configuration in the general/keys section to see the keymapping.

    Hey Marcusb,

My PC suddenly went tits up this week. Motherboard problem! So I splashed out on a new one. I now have an Intel Duo 6400 2.14Ghz and 256MB ATI graphics card.

All is now fine! No stuttering! :)

If I can just figure out the problem I am now getting with the BDA drivers I'll be laughing! (Started another thread for this.)

    Anyway, thanks again.
