Hi all,

I am interested in using this application, however my current computer I wanted to run it on was too slow (PIII 733 mhz, 512 ram). I launched the media portal, and navigating through the menus was very slow.

That said, I was wondering which component in the computer will have the most impact on performance. I'm not too interested in recording TV programs, but I do want to play video files, music, etc. My motherboard is pretty old (it's actually a Dell Optiplex GX110), so I can't really update the cpu. So my plan is to buy a cheap computer off ebay or something.

I read the system requirements, and it says 1.4 ghz or higher... is that the absolute required, or can you get away with less? Would 256 ram suffice, or should I really get 512?

So basically I want a budget PC that will be able to run the program with no hiccups. Any recommendations?

A MAJOR issue is to get a DX9 compliant gfx card.

Then all depends on your stomach and patience. You can probably do with the weakest possible functional Win XP SP2 system. But you probably don't want to.

What would be a recommended video card that does the trick, but is also affordable. THanks

Alot of people recomend the geforce fx5200 as a good budget card for MP

One thing you should try to get better proformance on a low spec machine is to try different skins, ive noticed that i get better proformance when going though menus with some skins than others.
