mount THEN PLAY (1 Viewer)

i never understood in my videos MP can mount .iso/.bin files. if i have a dvdr or svcd that is .bin why cant it mount it then play it. If i select the bin file, it mount it then you have to select the folder (video_ts) then select the file (video0_1.vob) why cant it mount then play straight away.

a VB app i have does the same thing in 2 lines, would it be something that could be added? (does the internal player have "disc mode" feature?)

Shell (c:\program files\dtools\dtools.exe -mount 0, file.bin)
Shell (c:\program files\powerdvd\powerdvd.exe f: )

thanks

chad

Hi Chadwik,

i don´t have to use deamon-tools for playing (S)VCD.

I only put .bin to the Movie-Extensions and i can
select them. For i.e. i have two SVCD´s called
test1.bin and test2.bin - i can select test1.bin and
play it. (It does not work with the *.img extensions
for me)

I use this feature since 0.0.0.10 and it works in all
versions´.

Hi Chadwik,

i dont use an external player. At the moment i´m at work so i can not check my configuration. When i be back at home this evening i can post my configuration.

Perhaps a little hint: I´ve installed on all my pc´s videolan client. This tools let you watch i.e. *.bin-files. But don´t know if there is a need for it to watch *.bin-files im mp.

Here is the link for videolan client (its freeware)
http://www.videolan.org/

Hope this will help out for the first time.

bye
merci

    Hi,

to play .bin files directly you need special codecs. Perhaps you have installed a codec pack merci? In the K-Lite codec pack is the Ligos mpeg player, which can play bin files directly within WMP.
But i would not recommend to use codec packs, they can mess up your whole system. IMHO, using daemon tools is the better solution, since it supports all images.

Back to topic: I second the request. It would be much nicer to directly start the playback, after mounting.

    Flip.
