Moved on from WMC to MP1 a few configuration issues... (1 Viewer)

Hi there,

I just moved out from WMC(planning the Windows10 upgrade), mostly I have everything up and running and I'm very happy with the extra flexibly and additional features, pretty amazing platform!(planning a big donation at the "end" of this project, you guys surely deserve it)...but I've a few issues that are bugging me, I'm a perfectionist ...I'm posting them here, because I'm sure they should be quite easy to solve, I'm just not finding the right places since I'm new to the platform... ;-)

My system: Windows 8.1 + MP1 with StreamedMP skin

1) CD/Music collection: I've the "Cover view" config so I can see all my CD covers in Big, indexed by Album name. There's this annoying behavior that when I'm in "Now Playing mode" playing the 10th CD in my list for example and press "back" on my remote(to go back to the initial Cover view menu), instead of going back to the 10th position, it sends me to the 1st CD in my list again...this is really annoying when you 700+ CD's and you are browsing your collection...surely there's a fix/options for this not to happen? Because I'm similar configuration for My Videos and Movies and that behavior doesn't happen, works perfectly...

2) My Movies collection: I've the "Show all" trigger for this option and I wanted to have the movies in "Cover View" every time I look at my movies, but for some reason, it always goes back into "list view", is there a way to make it default "Cover view"? I configured this for the Music and Videos and works perfectly...

3) My EPG: I'm using the XMLTV option to get my EPG data here in Australia. I'm fetching the files from a local service called www.icetv.com.au ...it worked well from the start and they have a tutorial to help config the all thing with MP1...sweet... ...the only issue I've is the color scheme for the different types of programs it's not working...this used to work with WMC for the same service, so not sure if I'm doing something wrong...?

Any help would be greatly appreciated...I'm on my final stages of achieving my MC nirvana.... )

I can only help with one of these...

the only issue I've is the color scheme for the different types of programs it's not working...this used to work with WMC for the same service, so not sure if I'm doing something wrong...?

Assuming that your guide data contains program category information, you still need to do a few things:

1. Link the program categories that are contained in your guide data to categories MP recognises. That is done in TV Server configuration -->here<--.
2. Enable guide colouring. That is done in MP configuration -->here<--.

Anyway, regarding viewing Movies users generally have three options - inbuilt Videos plugin you're using, MyFilms plugin which is interacting with movies catalogues and my personal favourite MovingPictures plugin. Videos plugin is good when you want to browse movies by folders but, on the other hand, Moving pictures is able to scan your folders for movies and show them in different views - covers, list, banners. Very nice! I strongly suggest to try it out. With MP-TVSeries plugin it makes my Mediaportal awesome software

Ok, got it...need to check, I though I was using the MovingPictures plugin...?! :-/

I was using Movpics...found option, fixed!
