Synopsis:

Hi.
When I try and scan my DVD image folder they wont show up in the Movie Database or anything.
It only says:
"Scanned files: 197 of 197
Database has been successfully rebuild"

My folder structure looks like this:
D:\DVD\Movie 1\AUDIO_TS\
D:\DVD\Movie 1\VIDEO_TS\VIDEO_TS.IFO (and many other files)

D:\DVD\Movie 2\AUDIO_TS\
D:\DVD\Movie 2\VIDEO_TS\VIDEO_TS.IFO (and many other files)

D:\DVD\Movie 3\AUDIO_TS\
D:\DVD\Movie 3\VIDEO_TS\VIDEO_TS.IFO (and many other files)

Is there no solution to my small problem? Maybe MP isnt built to view DVD copys on the HDD?

If anyone has a solution or suggestion then please help me.

This is just a thought, I don't know if it will work: Have you added .ifo as a movie extension? If not, maybe MP doesn't recognize the files as movies. But remember, I'm just guessing here, I don't keep my movies as .ifo files.

Yes.. .ifo is added as extension.
All files are copied directly from the DVDs.
Maybe the scanner dont like the subfolders audio_ts and video_ts?

Someone must surely have a DVD copy on the harddrive and have imported it to MP? Am I the first one?

no one?
It is quite annoying when I have to start a VNC connection to my HTPC, quit MediaPortal and then view my DVD-copys in Mediaplayer instead...
I must be possible to import the DVDs into the Movie database in MP..

I am an old Meedio user and it worked out of the box there. So please help me get MediaPortal to work.

Playing DVDs and movies, even if they are on the harddrive, should be the least you can expect from MediaPortal.. ?

Is there a FAQ, any forum thread or anything that can help me?

Please.

Okay. I will try and edit the database manually and try it. But If I want to have the IMDB info it is quite hard to add every movie manually.

Another question not really related to the topic... Is there any automatic database importer in MediaPortal like there was in Meedio that automatically imports any newly added movie/series/DVDs into the database?
I have my harddrives shared and often just copy the new movies into the folders... But then I have to do a VNC connection, Quit MP and then run the setup, import the movie, quit the setup, start MP and then watch.. :-/

There also was a plugin for meedio that allowed the user to do a manual import directly from the interface.

This would be nice if MP could have a similar function.

Does it work if you actually put in the disk? If so, there might be a workaround. Instead of copying the DVD content on your harddisk, you might want to copy any image file of your DVD to the hard disk and use the Daemon tools plugin (I think I came across such plugin while browsing the forums yesterday) that mounts the image as a virtual drive.

It plays my DVDs but still it wont import them into the movie database.
When I copy a new DVD into my harddrive i would like MP to import its info into the database.

Meedio had an importer that imported the information every 15 minutes but I guess it will be implemented in MP in a few versions... maybe.

I got the same issue. The problem 'went away', whilst I was making a number of changes to fix another problem. Most likely thing that fixed it was..

1) Upgrade to RC4
2) Change Video CODEC (Previous one did not support MPEG2)

Hope this helps

But removing a movie is a lot of work deleting it out of the database out of the folder in mp setting and then deleting from the hd folder is there not a faster way..same for importing a movie lot of work..
Thank's
