These are some very basic questions, and I apologize in advance.....

I've tried the WIKI, the FAQ and the forum without much luck....

This post did help me: https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...ml?t=9318&highlight=movie+directory+structure

I currently have my dvd movie files on network drives in the following structure:

\\machinename\drive letter\Movies\<movie name>\all files (.ifo, .vob, and cover thumbnail)

When trying to import the movies MP saw multiple movies all with VIDEO_TS.IFO as duplicates. Per the post above I changed one movie to the following format:
\\machinename\drive letter\Movies\<movie name>\VIDEO_TS\VIDEO_TS.IFO (and other files)

and MP seemed happy with that movie. My question is do I need to change the directory structure for my entire movie collection, or is there some way to tell MP what my structure is? Also, I've had a heck of a time trying to get the default view for my videos to use the movie cover jpeg that I have in each directory. If anyone can point me to documentation or a thread on that I'd appreciate the help.

MP really has developed into an awesome package, and my current HTPC software has decided to focus on retail installers, prompting me to make a change. I also use BeyondTV by Snapstream and will need to investigate integration options on the forum more.

If anyone can point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it. Again, I've tried looking for this info but it seems that much of the existing documentation (wiki, docs) assumes a basic level of understanding already. Guess I'm a noob all over again, but MP really seems worth it.

Thanks in advance.
