    Hi!

I have all my dvd movies on a external usb hdd with dvd file structure(video_ts folder)

Because of Microsofts limitation on the Windows Vista DVD Navigator, DVD Rips on external drives will not play!
So I mounted the external HDD to a folder at my internal C:/ HDD. If I start the movies from this folder, they play without a problem on every player, also with MP

So the Import Path in Moving Pictures is this folder, where the external HDD is mounted.

At prior releases from Moving Pictures, I marked this folder as external Device. But since 0.7 this is not possible anymore.

If I unplug my external HDD now all movies get deleted in the Moving Pictures database!
If I plug it in again and go to the Moving Pictures Configuration it starts to import the movies again!

I guess the problem is, that Moving Pictures treats it not as an external drive and so it thinks the movies are deleted when the drive is unplugged.

Hrmm... that is an interesting problem. I was playing around with the logic just now, and I think I can tweak the "removable" logic to detect this situation. I have created an issue for this over on the bug tracker, if you have a Google account, star the issue over there and you will receive email updates as progress is made.

I will try to get this fix in 0.7.1 if the change is not too major. Especially since there is not really a work around in your situation.

    Thanks for your efforts!
Yes there is not really a workaround. The only workaround is to use the PDVD 7 DVD Navigator in MP, but I only have PDVD 8 and its DVD Navigator is not supported in MediaPortal.

Please let me know, if you need logs or anything else. I will also follow this issue on google code.

PowerDVD 8 navigator is supported in the most recent SVN builds of MediaPortal.
