Movies Locking up on ff, rw, or pause (1 Viewer)

Anyway, so heres the problem. When i try to pause fast forward or rewind any video in my collection (AVI or WMV only) the video will become stuck but the audio continues to work. i think i have tried various codecs but none of them have fixed the problem.
