Hello everybody.
I have a easy question for yours:
Is there any option to group sagas of films in moving pictures such as "Planet of the apes", "Beneath the planet of the apes, etc ...?

Thanks!!!

Regards!!

You might want to have a look at IMDb+ plugin. It offers a workaround method for what you are after.

Collection support has been added to the development version of Moving-pictures, but that one has not been released yet and is limited to the scope that IMDb+ offers. So choice is yours.

I usually manually edit the sort title to something like planet of the apes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 etc
the IMDB+ plugin will have the option to change the display title to
Planet of the apes I: planet of the apes
Planet of the Apes II: Beneath the planet of the apes etc

I like to manually edit the sort title in case of director's cuts etc, so I name them movie 1, 2, 2a, 3, 3a, 4, 5 etc

I also group saga's into categories which help when searching through large collections
    Categories are your friend (y)

Keep in mind that IMDb+ does most of that fully automatic for you. If you prefer to overrule the way IMDb+ does the titles or sortby order by default, then you have full control on that with the custom rename XML file. The benefit then is that if you keep a copy/backup and you ever need to restore your collection in the future (or share with somebody else), that you never have to manually edit again. So it is more semi-autmatic then, but it does work well.

For the new dynamic collection stuff (alike to how Genres work) you do need to use a test-build of MovPic. IMDb+ supports this as well, so you get a dynamic category entry inside 'Collections' that will be called "Planet of the Apes" with all the related movies in them. Ontop of that IMDb+ has some bonus collections, such as IMDb Top 250, Oscars for Best Picture, and I'm working on a new one "Robots in Films" that will combine all the cool movies that featured a robot.

PS: The test-build of MovPic that has support for collections (as well as release_date and plot keywords) is available for download at IMDb+ project site. It looks like the next official release is still a ways out, so building from SVN or using the test-build is unfortunatly needed for the time being.

PPS: On an existing collection you have to mass-refresh all your movies, for which the IMDb+ plugin offers a method to do this within the MediaPortal GUI, and you can even still watch a movie then or something.

    Hello again!!
I´ve just checked IMBD+ in my mp and works very well (It was what I looked for), however, I´ve found a little problem: I usually use the coverflow view, but after installing IMBD+ plugin the view changes automatically to the list view. Why??

Concerning the language of the plugin, Can we change it for another one or is only available in English?

    Thank you for yor help.

    Regards.

IMDb+ only touches the MovPic part relating to the importing of movies via IMDb+ scraper-scripts, so please check your MovPic config settings on both parent view and the individual category settings (each category can overrule the parent view settings). Did you also update MovPic itself? Others have complained about the same issue on forum. I'm going to have to test the hell out of it then if IMDb+ plugin causes the view to change, but odds are you also updated MovPic itself recently.

Concerning the language of the plugin, Can we change it for another one or is only available in English?

It started out as just English, but since then I've added support for Dutch, Icelandic, and Swedish. I even for a long time had support for German, Italian, Spanish, French, and Portugese added via the imdb.de/fr/it/pt/es websites, but then Amazon in their sheer wisdom (aka morons ) shut those sites down and killed the ability of IMDb+ to handle those languages. I'm trying to add languages back in, but to make that happen I'm reliant on other websites besides imdb.com then that need to support the ability to locate the correct movie based on IMDb tt-ID.

At the moment I'm talking to the developers of Media-Passion to add 'French' back in. If German is your language, then for right now you might prefer to look into FilmInfo+ which is a seperate project inspired by IMDb+. It's on my ToDo list to also add German support back into IMDb+, but will take time.

If you have any other language support request then let me know. I am working on a full rewrite of IMDb+ that is able to re-use all the foreign titles on IMDb website properly, but that's still a few months out as well. As far as interface language is concerned of the IMDb+ plugin itself, this is now dealt with via Transflex, so you can help translate on that.

Thanks guys. Ok, spent the (whole) weekend on this lol. First; TVHeadend/Kodi.... Nah. Given up on that - 'non-tech'; its horrible. 'Tech' - a few reasons but mostly that it is buggy.
